Inception "The Illusion of Control"

Genius Level Inception

If I asked you: “Do you ever think about flying cars”, now pause for a bit and then tell me what you are thinking about?

I’ll wait…..

You thinking about flying cars right? (Right there I just incepted an Idea into your head). This right here is the science behind a leading question, mind control comes in different forms; but the best way to incept an idea into someone’s mind is to make them think they are the once who formulated it.

“What is the most resilient parasite? Bacteria? Virus? An Intestinal worm? AN IDEA!! Resilient, highly contagious. Once an idea has taken hold of the brain it’s almost impossible to eradicate. An idea that is fully formed, fully understood. That sticks, right in there somewhere” Dominick Cobb

This is the very basic principle of mind control, it is the basis for Marketing. Advertising works parallel to the concept of Inception, once an idea is incepted in your head that you’d look stunning in those hot pair of heels, it will never go away! We’ve seen many forms of bacteria that function like a parasite. An Idea functions on the same level as that of an intestinal worm, it eats what you eat and grows with every meal, eventually becoming big and with that it requires more food. Have you ever thought of an idea to be bacteria? (See what I did there?). This is why when you finally give into the edge to “ball-out” it can only graduate uphill from there into fully flashed Balleritis (the compulsion to live beyond your means).

The reason your mind has allowed such parasitism to go on unnoticed is due to the “Illusion of Control”. Dr Ellen Langes describes “Illusion of control” to be the tendency for human beings to believe they can control or at least influence outcomes that they demonstrably have no influence over.

What about that song that you’re favourite Radio-Station overplays and you eventually find yourself singing along and BOOM, before you know it, even though “Started from the Bottom” was a shitty song, extreme marketing incepted the idea that it’s an amazing song.

The reason we end up conforming to this standards of having fleshy things isn’t because we genuinely like “Balling-Out”. Try think of how many ideas have been incepted into your head through music videos, commercials, movies. You see the Media has realised the overwhelming power they have over people’s perceptions, so much so they can now sell you anything. In a normal music video the guy who is out there showing off his flashy lifestyle and is perceived to have more money gets all the women. That’s why we see our mates buying expensive bottles in the club, buying cars they can’t afford, it has been incepted in their heads that these material things will guarantee them all the respect and women they desire. Life in a music video can never simulate into reality.

“While all of my closest friends out partying. I’m just here making all the music
that they party to. But party on, party on, all night nigga” Drake

“The only time you see me in a club is because I was paid to be there” Lil Wayne

Then comes the Credit Inception, I recall being told 2 years back when I started working that I can’t be approved for a new cellphone contract because I had no credit history. You mean to tell me I spent a fair share of my varsity years avoiding credit to one day be told that I wasn’t doing myself any favours? EYES POPPED! I know right? It’s a pretty flawed system. I spend my entire life being liquid and not being financially reckless, why am I not standing on an A++ credit rating? So basically what the system says is that you need credit to be able to access credit, one of the dumbest things I’ve ever heard. The lady who was helping me then continued to tell me that I should open 3 accounts with different clothing stores in order to in 3 months qualify for the cellphone contract.

My frustration is how there’s talks of South Africans having the highest levels of unsecured landing meanwhile Credit is continually made to look cool and acceptable. Let me rephrase, taking out credit has been incepted into our heads that it’s a normal thing to live beyond your means. This can only lead into a rat race of where more of these organisations continue to tempt you into taking out more credit. What they do is once you give in, they pack your details and sell them off to other credit offering entities, this is a vicious nonstop cycle. Credit is the modern day slave chain, it locks you in and uses you. Funny how they are so so very strategic in their approach, come the 25th when its payday you get those 30% off clothing clearance sale messages on your phone, then come the 10th-15th of the month they strike back with loan offers as they now know you approaching broke.

Then you wonder why we have so many Siphos around. They are all victims of this institutionalized corporate Inception campaign, It’s very hard fighting an enemy you cannot see, more so hard to fight temptation when you already knee deep and soaked in it. This is something no one will ever teach you, you just need to open up your eyes and stay clear.

Who I ask are the advocates for this lavish fake unaffordable lifestyle being sold to us? That has our brothers and sisters increasing their credit limits on a monthly? Calling rounds & bottles of Patron and Moët while the rent remains unpaid?

“Jays on my feet, Jays on my feet, so get like me”

Genius Level (2)

The advocates are me and you, that same car that you cannot afford makes others perceive that you have made it, that you are living large, we all now want to “Get like you”

Musicians, especially black musicians have long been used as puppets by big corporates so as to look appealing to the black market, from there they infiltrate and drain all ignorant money from the black market. Its not so much the Basketball or Soccer that pays, it’s the organisations and Big corporates that are behind the scenes that make a killing from this (Nike, Adidas, Puma, Coke, SAB, TV broadcasters, you name it). That Ronaldo and LeBron money is little money.

“Drug dealer buy Jordans, crackhead buy crack_And a white man get paid off of all of that” Kanye West – All Falls Down

“Shaq is rich. The white man who signs his check … is wealthy. “Ah, here you go, Shaq. Go buy yourself a bouncing car. Bling, bling! Coz they Spinning nigga they Spinning” Chris Rock

Genius Level (3)

If you look above you will see a toaster sitting on shinny spinning rims, the dreams they sell us. Michael Jordan made a killing but sold us out, Diddy got that Ciroc money but sold his own out, your favourite musician in that make it rain music video with half naked twerking and popping Champaign sold us unrealistic dreams and sold us out, the sugar daddy you always see at your local club spending away his savings to impress young girls sold us out, the dude in the rented GTi at homecoming sold us dreams . As I always say, bullshit packaged to perfection. Who is to blame? The seller or the buyer? Is it really advisable to look like a million dollars while your bank balance stands on a negative?

All these Inception hidden in plain sight, open your eyes and allow for internalized free clear decision making. Am I really buying this because it makes me happy? Where did this stubborn expensive idea erupt from? Develop a solid defense mechanism that aides you’re subconscious in blocking off all parasitical forms of messages. Now that is Genius Level.

“It started out, with what I wear to school_That first day, like these are what make you cool_And this pair, this would be my parachute_So much more than just a pair of shoes_Nah, this is what I am_What I wore, this is the source of my youth_This dream that they sold to you_For a hundred dollars and some change_Consumption is in the veins_And now I see it’s just another pair of shoes” Macklemore – Wings
