‘How To Be A Modern Knight’

We live in a world were interactions with the opposite sex are massive, and are no longer reserved for certain occasions. Way back in the day, men and women only interacted during courtship, as man and wife or at the ‘gentleman’s club’ making it rain. But now, we mingle everywhere, but the biggest difference between then and now is how men act when they interact with women. Very few men understand or even appreciate the art of chivalry, because if they did, their game would be on a 1000, just like our granddad’s were, who we now call ‘old school players’. Women aren’t all wooed by money; chivalry has always done the trick. I’m going to share 5 chivalrous moves, fool proof to impress for success in your dating life.

“Who killed Chivalry? they need to get their sentencing” Drake – July ft. Jhene Aiko

Don’t make a scene to get attention. If you see a girl you like, instead of hollering out different names to get her attention or using some of those tired cheesy, and not even a funny cheesy, pickup lines, just walk up to her and introduce yourself like any normal person does, pay her a compliment, all women love those.

  1. Always get the door. Entering or leaving a place, if you’re in a group of women, get the door for them. Just don’t sprint to the door; you’ll end up hurting people rather than helping. The thing is, only get the door if it’s in close range, and if there’s a woman in front of you, offer to get the door for her, and remember to smile, it will look like you really want to help, and in her eyes you’ll totally look like Clark Kent.
  2. Pay up player. So you have a date set up? Never suggest to go dutch on the meal, you’ll just be looking cheap, and it’s not because women love money, we just want to know that we are with a guy who is financially secure, and that’s sexy. But beware of the gold diggers; they are real and well camouflaged.
  3. It’s the thought that counts. When trying to impress a lady, not a gold digger, money seldom ever has anything to do with it, its sentimental things that impress. Ask her what she likes and listen for hints. If she likes poetry, try your hand at writing her a four line poem (hint: roses are red, violets are blue), even if your poem sucks, it’s the thought that counts, because it means that you listened to her and thought about her as well, and there is nothing we love more than being your muse. Find out what she’s into and use that to get her into you.
  4. Don’t take yourself too seriously. No woman wants to feel undermined and constricted in a conversation, so don’t correct her sentences when she speaks because you have a blubber mouth OCD make her feel comfortable, but that doesn’t mean that you should be childish, because that act will not have you winning. Have fun, and then later you can let her know what a genius you are.

Those are my five modern day chivalrous acts for the modern man. Get your superman cape on, because every woman loves a superhero.

  1. Hi! Great post! I really enjoyed your article. I totally agree with your four points. Chivalry seemed to have lost its true meaning due to a rise of individualistic values. In no way does chivalry implies sexism. I am an old fashioned person as well and I often gets criticized for that. Gallantry and gentleman are not outdated, they signifies respect, politeness and confidence. Once again good job! You should check out my article on Chivalry 2.0 at https://wordpress.com/post/85377634/438/. I would greatly appreciate feedback from you. Take care xo
