How long it took?
How long will we allow our country to be owned by outsiders who care not about us?
Not so many years ago they were only a few
Humbling as they entered our motherland
“Hello my friend” “hello my friend” was their access code
Cities was their first landing port
And not long enough they flocked our villages like honey bees
“Tuckshop” one after the other
“Tuckshop” one after the other
Sad enough they even call them the likes of “kutlwano Tuckshop” or “itumeleng Tuckshop”
And we let them, year after year…..
But when our fellow neighboring Africans come here for the same interests we called them names
“Makwerekwere” and so on
Yet the ones who aren’t our brothers we call “my friend”
And they here for one thing, to enrich themselves and not contribute nothing to the community
You may not see it but this is somehow maybe a prophecy….
Informal business as it is, but organised like an operating system
And we typical Africans then say “ba strong ka ditlhare”(are powerfull with muthi)
Wake up Africans, wake up…the shadow of the 21st century self enrichers are in our back yard
and they do not care about us or the community at large with most bringing in counterfeit cheap products
That cripple our fellow brother’s businesses
I thought it will take them longer to enter “di Kasi”
To my surprise, they started tearing down K1 on my blink
I watched them take the Tanzanian guy’s shop with a “hand grenade”
I watched them shake down Bra Mos’s shop as if they own the land
But for as long as we don’t wake up….
We will continue to starve while being taken advantage of
Unite Africans…unite
And wake up
Arrogance is even growing in their face as they call us lazy
under the false pretense of being “my friend”
But when our fellow Africans like Zims come here we treat them bad
Yet we call outsiders and those who care not for us “my friend”
Wake up Africans and realize the potential that is in all of us
Let not outsiders come and find opportunity on your land while you starve
Wake up….
