Now racist white people tell me something, where in that statement do you see “and the lives of whites don’t matter”. It’s sad that we have to take to the streets to tell people something they know already, it’s sad that in the process we also have to justify our actions. What puzzles me is that some people intentionally choose to misinterpret such a simple message.
We have been here before, this is not the first time a police officer gunned down an unarmed young black man. Even though we hope it is the last time, we also hope white people will step out of their whiteness and understand the reason we are specifically saying black is not because we hate them but because on this specific issue the lives of black young man are lost and millions others are in danger if this behavior of killing blacks continues.
No one ever declared war on white people; no one said the police should kill them. Fine we don’t really expect them to join in and fight for justice because it does not really affect them, but when they want us to apologize for fighting for our lives then all I can say is, am sorry my life matters and you got no say in this.
