I am sure you have realized that in the recent past ANC has changed its tone towards EFF, although they still limping from the injury they endured because of the EFF and they are still not sure how much damage the EFF can do to them,the ANC decided it is time to do a turn around.
In Zimbabwe the ZANUPF was like ANC at some point, it was losing support at a rapid pace and the only option they had was to label MDC as a force of the Western creation trying to return colonization. Although this theory sounds far-fetched, the ZANUPF preached it into the minds of the people until they couldn’t trust MDC anymore. The ANC is attempting to do the same thing to the EFF in order to shift and lure support from the EFF masses.
In their argument the ANC claims the EFF will deliver the masses back to the land of apartheid, they link the recent decision of the EFF to donate their votes to the DA as a sell-out/ direct failure of the people who voted for EFF. Well one can argue that the decision of the EFF was political suicide but given the conditions it is also obvious that the ANC didn’t deserve the support of the EFF. Remember they are being punished as a collective, the ANC will preach this theory until people believe it but the question is what will the EFF do? The ANC tried prior to the elections to label DA as a racist party but judging from how things look it didn’t work and we wait to see if their new strategy will yield any returns going to the 2019 national elections… My beloved ANC…
