I remember the have not days, even the slightest thought of being at the airport or getting onto a plane was an absolute ridiculous dream, it would be so amazing and beautiful I always thought to myself. Then the day came that I took flight, still remember it like it was yesterday, lol not really just kidding. The Plane took off, it was kind of a rush as it was taking off as those Rolls-Royce engines lit up and ignited, but that was just about it, got in the air and asked myself, is this really it? Couple of thrills due to the crazy turbulence and hot air hostesses but that was just about it.
Or what about that overly hot girl you always wanted to get with, you almost would faint whenever given the chance to exchange a couple of words with her and your boys would make fun of you and pull those faces (you know those faces) whenever she walked passed you guys… Then with the help of the universe converging its gravitational pull and finally blinding her into dating you. Then you realize maybe all this images, fantasies and thoughts I had about her were all just manifested in my own little Utopian crazy mind, then you realize she’s actually a bore and not as interesting as you had imagined her to be.
Or you get promoted and your salary goes up by 50%, the first sight of that employment contract and the first Payslip are an absolute dream, you happy all over, call up mama and tell her we made it, then fast forward 3 months down the line….. Ding ding ding, lifestyle inflation done taken over and now you accustomed to that income… Eventually you end up wanting more.
That is the beauty of drive, once it gets you to an initial desired point, you realize that maybe my initial target was too low, there’s actually far bigger hills and stratospheres to reach up to…
So go on ahead and measure up the hill with a range in mind, but always bear in mind that after climbing a great hill, one only finds that there are many more hills to climb. It’s the journey that is sometimes the most enjoyable and fulfilling, don’t forget to enjoy the ride.
