Man Crush Monday
I have never taken part in #MCM. Why? Well…I tend to shy away from social media trends because sometimes I really feel like I am not cool enough or I really just struggle with conformity.
I moved to Jo’burg about five years ago from the rural outskirts of Limpopo Province in South Africa and adapted to the city life very fast. Here, the bae life is so strong and the circles are way too small. Within that adaption process I realised that it is so easy to get sucked into a lot of things so one has to choose wisely where they decide to stick their heads.

Back to the topic at hand…MCM. God created all human beings in his image but I feel like when he created some Men he took his time. Not fair but nje all is fair in love and war. I remember having a chat with my friends and obviously things got dramatic and me being my verbal filter free person at times I asked; “so what happens if your MCM is hotter than your boyfriend?”. I did get a side eye but lol I had to know.
The response was; “one needs to appreciate the finer things in life so why not”. But then another thought crossed my mind – “how does your boyfriend feel about the fact that you have another guy as your MCM, this guy is from around the corner from your place even, not USA or UK?” – but I contained it. See I think I am the jealous type *shrugs*.
If I were a boy (reference to Beyonce) and I made sure that I was that loving guy that you “need” but I have never made it to your MCM posts but Sipho has, I would go question your motives with me yo. Am I here because I am second best or what? Plus if Sipho lives around the corner, what are the chances that you and him are getting it on in secret. But I guess like the Bible says, “what happens in the dark shall be revealed in the light”.
MCM might be all fun and games but it can ruin relationships as well *lol*. Don’t even tell me about trust and transparency, those are just fancy words. Mortal beings have feelings and jealousy and/or doubt can reign supreme in this city’s blurred lines. I am sure a few couples have already had arguments over Sipho.
