Realest shit I’ve ever seen, ZCC dude pulls out his badge in the club!!
Hadn’t been out in a while, so yesterday I decided to head out to the club to have a few beers and vibe to the music. Atmosphere was welcoming and everyone was in a good mood.
So I’m standing in line to grab a beer with my girl with me. Barman gets me a cold one and I then proceed to pay. There’s a guy behind me who wanted to push in to also grab a beer. Tells me to let him through soon as I’m done as it was hella packed, anyway I agreed and said something in Pedi to him. Bear in mind we in PE right so most of the peeps here speak Xhosa. So I was like yeah sure ‘o ska wara’ I’ll let you in. Turns out the dude was Pedi also, so me saying what I said had his eyes all glittery. There’s this feeling you get especially if you far away from home when you meet up with someone who speaks your langue.
Nelson Mandela once said when you speak to someone in their language you speak to their soul and in a different langue you speak to their minds.
So anyway me and the dude start conversing in Pedi and just talking shit really for some minutes. Anyway so me and my girl decide to go to sit down so I say my goodbyes to the dude. As we leaving I ask him what’s he doing this side and tells me he’s studying and then I asked him where home is and then boom!!

Dude pulls out from his pocket a ZCC badge and shows it to me and says “I’m from Limpopo dude”.
Now I’m not throwing shade or anything, it was just the whole thing caught me off guard and given that he had a beer in his hand we both just died out in laughter for a good minute and then went our separate ways, got to my table and decided I should write an article about this and then wrote in my mobile notes “Realest shit I’ve ever seen, ZCC dude pulls out his badge in the club” so as to not forget. Hahaha random I know but anyway here we are…
